What is the best CUNY college for science majors?

I'm considering going into a science major and am leaning toward a CUNY college. Which CUNY schools are particularly well-regarded for science programs, in terms of faculty, facilities, or research opportunities?

If you have an interest in science, several CUNY colleges offer robust programs. Hunter College, known for its strong science and health professions programs, stands out. It offers a variety of majors such as Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and more. A unique aspect of Hunter's science programs is the access to undergraduate research opportunities.

City College of New York (CCNY) is also highly regarded. It has a strong science program with numerous research opportunities and facilities. The Grove School of Engineering has standout offerings in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.

Another consideration would be the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY. While it's not a separate campus, it's a selective program that accepts students across the eight CUNY senior colleges. As a Macaulay student, you would have access to honors-level science courses, enhanced academic advising, and more research and internship opportunities. With its rigorous emphasis on the sciences and a broad spectrum of specializations, these schools may be good choices for you.

However, in the end, the "best" college depends on your exact major, career goals, financial situation, and personal fit. I encourage you to carefully examine the academic programs, faculty, research and internship opportunities, class sizes, and student support services at each CUNY college before making a decision.
