Need recommendations for atmospheric science colleges in NC

I'm looking to study atmospheric science and want to stay in North Carolina. Could anyone list some of the best colleges in NC known for strong atmospheric science programs?

When it comes to atmospheric science programs in North Carolina, a few institutions stand out due to the strength of their programs and resources.

North Carolina State University (NCSU) in Raleigh offers a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. NCSU's program focuses on atmospheric physics and dynamics, forecasting, and numerical weather prediction. Students are provided opportunities for internships and undergraduate research, enhancing their practical knowledge and skills.

The University of North Carolina Asheville offers a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences. The program provides an in-depth understanding of the physical and chemical components of the atmosphere, and offers a climate science concentration. UNCA also has an ENSO Weather Center which offers paid internships to students, granting them hands-on experience in forecasting.

Another potential option is the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Although they do not offer a dedicated program in Atmospheric Science, they do offer an Earth and Environmental Sciences major that covers areas in atmospheric sciences.

Remember, while these schools have solid programs, you should also consider the overall college fit by looking at factors like financial aid, size, location and culture. Also, reach out to the admissions offices or department heads to get a better sense of the resources available to students and what graduates of the program typically do after their studies.
