Why do some people look down on vocational jobs?

I've noticed that vocational jobs sometimes don't get the same respect as others. Why is this the case? Are these jobs less valuable or is it just a stereotype?

There's been an increasing shift in narrative recently, recognizing the importance of vocational jobs and the skilled trades. Efforts are being made to respect and encourage these career paths more, as they are crucial to our society, offer good job prospects, and can be a great fit for many students.

Just as the value of an occupation shouldn't be judged merely on its educational requirement, the value of an individual is certainly not determined by their occupation. Every job that contributes positively to the community and the economy has its own value and significance.
