What's the pharmacist's job like?

I’m considering pharmacy as a career option. Can anyone share what the main responsibilities of a pharmacist are? Do they mostly involve dispensing medication, or is there more to it?

Pharmacists do play a crucial role in dispensing medication, but their responsibilities extend beyond just that task. Here are some of the key responsibilities a pharmacist might have:

1. Providing expert advice to patients: This involves explaining the safe use and potential side effects of prescribed drugs. They also guide patients on the duration of the treatment, diet restrictions, and any activities to avoid while on medication.

2. Overseeing the supply of medicine: Pharmacists are responsible for managing the supply of medicines in a pharmacy, hospital, or clinic. This means ensuring that all medicines are stored under proper conditions and are handed over safely to the customers.
