Responsibilities of a booster club?

I'm interested in joining a booster club at my school. Can anyone share what these clubs generally do, and what sort of responsibilities members might have? Are there benefits to being involved in one?

As a member of a booster club, you'd be expected to assist in fundraising efforts, organize events, and actively promote the cause the club is supporting.
