What is a good job to have in high school?

I'm looking to save some money while still in high school. Does anyone have recommendations for part-time jobs that are flexible with a school schedule? I want to earn some cash but not drown in work.

There are quite a few jobs that high school students can do to earn money while also maintaining a manageable schedule. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Retail: Working in stores such as clothing, grocery, or department stores can be a great experience. These jobs often teach valuable skills like customer service, money handling, and time management. They also typically offer flexible hours so you can work after school or on weekends.

2. Tutoring: If you excel in a particular subject, tutoring might be a good fit. You can offer your services to younger students, or peers struggling in a subject you're strong in. This can often be a flexible job that allows you to set your own hours.

3. Babysitting: Babysitting is a classic part-time job for high schoolers. If you enjoy spending time with kids and have a good level of responsibility, this could be a great option. Plus, evening hours could mean homework can be done once the kids are in bed.

4. Food Service: Jobs at fast food restaurants or local diners can be another good option. They often are willing to work around school schedules.

5. Dog Walking/Pet Sitting: If you love animals, this could be both rewarding and fun. Sites like Rover.com, for instance, can make it easy to find clients.

Remember, the most important thing is not to overextend yourself. School should still be your main focus, so make sure any job you choose allows you enough time for homework and downtime.
