What are the best public colleges in Michigan for computer science?

I'm a junior considering computer science as a major and I'm really interested in the top public colleges in Michigan. Does anyone have recommendations on which schools have the best programs? I want to start narrowing down my college list.

Some of the top public colleges in Michigan renowned for their computer science programs are the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and Michigan State University in East Lansing.

The University of Michigan's Computer Science program is ranked among the top 15 globally, consistently strong in various specializations of computer science. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science as well as a Bachelor of Science in Data Science, a relatively new interdisciplinary major that combines computer science, statistics, and real-world problem-solving.

Michigan State University is another excellent option to consider for computer science. While it might not be as highly-ranked as UM Ann Arbor, its program is recognized for its research opportunities and robust curriculum that goes in-depth into the theory and practical aspects of computer science.

Also, consider Michigan Technological University. It might not be as large or well-known as the other two, but it's renowned for its strong STEM programs, especially in fields like computer science and engineering. This school could be considered a 'hidden gem' in the Michigan public university system.

While these are highly-regarded programs in Michigan, it's also essential to consider other factors such as the admission competition, your chance of getting accepted, and the overall campus environment. When looking at colleges, try to visit if you can, or take part in any virtual tours or admission events they offer online. This could help you get a better sense of the university's culture and if it would be a good fit for you.
