Best midsize colleges for engineering?

I'm trying to find midsize colleges that have strong engineering programs. I'm not into huge universities, but I don’t want a super small school either. Any suggestions on where to apply?

There are several midsize schools known for excellent engineering programs.

1. Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania: This school is known for its focus on technology and engineering and has a renowned College of Engineering with various majors to choose from.

2. Lehigh University in Pennsylvania: Lehigh’s P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science is considered very impressive, offering robust programs in areas like Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as Industrial Systems Engineering.

3. Vanderbilt University in Tennessee: While it may be known for its medical programs, Vanderbilt also has a well-respected School of Engineering.

4. Northeastern University in Massachusetts: Northeastern's College of Engineering features interdisciplinary, experiential, and global experiences, plus a range of engineering disciplines. The co-op program also gives you the potential for real-world work experience during your undergraduate years.

5. Case Western Reserve University in Ohio: The Case School of Engineering has a rich history and continues to offer numerous interdisciplinary programs.

6. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York: This is a technology-focused university that offers a wide variety of engineering majors.

As you're narrowing down your college list, keep in mind that the quality of engineering programs can sometimes vary greatly within a given university depending on the specific type of engineering you're interested in, so always be sure to look at the specific department you're interested in. All of these colleges should have enough social activities, resources, and diversity in the student body to create a well-rounded college experience.
