Wisconsin's Best College for Engineering?

I'm considering pursuing engineering and want to stay in Wisconsin. Which college is considered the best for engineering programs in the state? Are there particular strengths at any of these schools that I should know about?

When it comes to engineering programs in Wisconsin, two schools generally stand out: the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).

UW–Madison's College of Engineering is ranked among the nation's top engineering programs. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate engineering programs, including Biomedical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering. The university also has strong ties with industry, offering students numerous internship and job opportunities. Furthermore, the university is known for its emphasis on research, which would provide an enriching experience if you're interested in delving into specific aspects of your field.

On the other hand, the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is known for its industry-focused approach. While it may not have the same breadth of programs as UW–Madison, MSOE offers targeted and rigorous programs in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering. MSOE's small class sizes also mean you'll likely receive more personalized attention.

There's also Marquette University in Milwaukee, which has a well-regarded College of Engineering with undergraduate programs in Civil, Environmental, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. The advantage Marquette holds is its emphasis on service learning, which combines classroom instruction with community service.

Each of these programs has its own strengths, so you might want to consider what specific areas of engineering you're interested in, and the learning environment that you prefer.
