Top CUNY Schools for Science Majors?

I'm considering pursuing a science major at a CUNY school. Are there certain campuses known for strong science programs that I should be focusing on during my college search?

Absolutely, there are a couple of CUNY schools that come to mind when you mention strong science programs.

Firstly, City College of New York (CCNY) offers a comprehensive range of science concentrations. They have a dedicated Division of Science and offer degrees in fields such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Biomedical Education, among others. The college is particularly known for their Grove School of Engineering if you're thinking of branching into applied sciences at some point.

Secondly, you might want to look into Hunter College. Many students praise the school's science programs, with a strong focus in the health sciences such as nursing and public health. Hunter also has significant resources for pre-medical and pre-health students.

Thirdly, Queens College has a robust selection of science major options and places a strong emphasis on research and hands-on learning experiences. They also have an honors program in the sciences that provides enhanced research opportunities.

Lastly, while not as broadly-known for sciences, Brooklyn College does offer quality courses and research opportunities in environmental science, Health and Nutrition Sciences, and has a well-regarded pre-med program.

Remember, however, the "top" school for you should also correlate with the specific field of science you're interested in. Look at the program specifics, faculty, and research projects at each school to get a sense of where you'll best meet your educational goals. Good luck with your college search!
