Best search engines for finding college research papers?

I'm starting to prep for college apps and want to dive into research papers to see what topics interest me. What are the best search engines or databases you guys use to find quality college research papers online?

Some popular databases and search engines to access college research papers include:

1. Google Scholar: This is a widely used search engine that indexes a large number of scholarly articles and research papers. Its interface is straightforward to use.

2. JSTOR: This database carries an extensive collection of scholarly journals, books, and primary sources from various academic fields. Keep in mind, though, that full access may require a subscription or institutional affiliation.

3. PubMed: Especially helpful if you're interested in medical and health-related topics, PubMed provides access to thousands of articles from the MEDLINE database and also includes links to sites providing full-text articles.

4. EBSCOhost: Known for its robust collection of online research databases, EBSCOhost provides a variety of discipline-based subject indexes. It is widely used in academic, public, and school libraries.

5. Academic Search Premier: This is a multidisciplinary database providing full-text articles from a wide range of academic areas. It is an excellent “general” database and a good starting point for research on nearly any topic.

6. ProQuest: Another multidisciplinary research database that provides access to a variety of journals, dissertations, and theses. It's widely used and respected in academic circles.

Remember, many of these services might require access through your school or local library, especially for more comprehensive features or full-text access. Make sure to check with your school or local library about accessing these resources.
