Best community college in San Diego for computer science?

I'm planning to attend a community college in San Diego and I'm interested in majoring in computer science. Which community college in the area is known for having a good CS program?

San Diego Mesa College is arguably one of the best community colleges in San Diego for computer science. They offer a comprehensive Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science. In addition to the fundamentals of computer science, their curriculum includes courses on data structures, computer architecture, and discrete mathematics, which provide a strong foundation for students aiming to transfer to a four-year college for a bachelor's degree.

Another option would be San Diego Miramar College, which also has a robust Computer Science program. Similar to Mesa College, Miramar offers an AS degree in Computer Science. They provide special emphasis on learning programming languages and problem-solving skills, which can be helpful if you want specific programming expertise.

However, keep in mind that the "best" choice depends on your personal needs and circumstances. Each community college has its own strengths and unique offerings. I'd recommend making a list of your priorities (like location, class size, specific courses, or advising resources) and comparing it against what each college offers. Attend open houses or info sessions if they're being held, too, as they can provide you with a feel of the college's environment.

Additionally, no matter which community college you choose, keep in mind the importance of meeting the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements and maintaining a strong GPA, as these would be significant if you plan to transfer to a UC or Cal State school later on.
