I'm considering a career in cybersecurity, and I've heard about security analysts. What do they do in their job? Is there a specific path I should follow in college to become one?

A security analyst is a crucial role within the cybersecurity field. They are responsible for protecting an organization's sensitive and proprietary information from potential threats. Their typical tasks might include implementing security measures, detecting breaches, conducting vulnerability assessments and investigations, developing strategies to counter potential threats, and preparing incident reports. As for college paths to this career, it's ideal to major in a related field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity if your college offers it.
