Hi all, I'm trying to narrow down my college list and I'm really interested in places with excellent engineering and computer science programs. Ideally, I'd like a university with strong internship opportunities. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for universities that excel in engineering and computer science programs, consider schools like MIT, Stanford, and the University of California–Berkeley. MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Stanford University consistently rank highly in both fields. They both also have robust partnerships with industries and tech companies, so they can offer great opportunities for internships.

The University of California–Berkeley also has a prestigious College of Engineering and a highly-ranked computer science program housed within its College of Letters and Science. Being in the Bay Area, UC Berkeley has close connections with Silicon Valley, making it advantageous for internships and job placements.

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh is another great school to consider. Its College of Engineering and School of Computer Science are both recognized worldwide. Plus, Pittsburgh's status as a growing tech hub could offer unique intern opportunities.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign also has distinguished programs in engineering and computer science. UIUC has a research park where companies, ranging from startups to Fortune 500, have offices, providing ample internship opportunities for students.

Likewise, both the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and the University of Texas at Austin have excellent engineering and computer science programs. These universities have also cultivated strong relationships with various industries, paving the way for potential internship and co-op experiences.

Important to note is that all of these universities have competitive admissions, so having a well-rounded application that highlights your passion and achievements in engineering and computer science will be crucial. Best of luck in your college search!
