Considering a job as a caddy?

I've heard being a caddy can be a cool job, especially if you like golf. What does the job actually involve? I'm looking at different part-time jobs I could do during high school, so any advice or insight would be great!

Caddying is an interesting job, especially if you're into golf! A caddy’s job functions can vary, but often they're responsible for carrying the golfer’s bag, offering advice and moral support, and essentially being the player's on-course assistant. They can suggest strategies based on their understanding of the golf course, weather conditions and more. Also, they're expected to maintain the pace of the game, rake bunkers, replace divots, and keep the golf balls and clubs clean.

You should note that getting hired as a caddy often requires some knowledge of golf. Some golf clubs even have training programs for new caddies to teach them about the specific course and the basics of the job.

Caddying can be physically demanding as you're on your feet for the duration of a game, so staying fit is important. It can also teach you valuable skills such as communication, decision-making, and problem-solving, which can be very beneficial in your future career. Lastly, caddying is a great way to network, as you'll often interact with affluent individuals who could potentially offer advice or opportunities down the line.
