I'm considering IT as a career and came across software analysts. What does the job entail, and which skills or qualifications are necessary? Is this a good starting point for a higher-level IT role?

A software analyst, also known as a systems analyst, is a technology professional who interfaces between the management staff and the IT department in an organization. They assess an organization's IT systems and are involved in system design and modifications to meet the business needs effectively.
