Which SUNY colleges are best for engineering majors?

I'm thinking about staying in New York for college and have heard good things about the SUNY system. Which SUNY schools have strong engineering programs? Any recommendations or insights would be awesome.

You're right in considering SUNY schools for your engineering studies as several of them have reputable programs. Three SUNY schools in particular tend to stand out for their engineering programs:

- Binghamton University: Known for its Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science, you can explore various fields, including Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering among others.

- University at Buffalo: The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences here offers a wide variety of engineering programs. They particularly boast strong Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering programs.

- Stony Brook University: The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Stony Brook has a well-regarded engineering department. Especially their Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Engineering programs are often highly ranked.

All three of these universities present numerous undergraduate research opportunities and strong faculty, providing you with hands-on experience and mentorship that can prove incredibly beneficial regardless of your specific engineering focus.

Remember to also consider factors like campus life, location, student support services, and other non-academic aspects when choosing a school. Good luck!
