Where can I study disorders in the USA?

I'm thinking about majoring in psychology with a focus on disorders. Could someone recommend universities in the USA where this is a strong field of study? What are the best schools for this area?

Sure, I'm happy to recommend some universities noted for strong psychology programs with a focus on disorders.

Starting off with Stanford University, it maintains a very well-regarded psychology department. One of their key research areas is "Affective Science," which focuses on understanding the mechanisms of human emotion, which is often critical in studying psychological disorders.

The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor is another institution to consider. They have one of the top psychology programs in the country, and their Clinical Science area concentrates on the assessment and treatment of mental disorders.

Psychology at Yale University is another prestigious program. Their Clinical Psychology concentration puts a heavy emphasis on research, which means students could be at the forefront of discoveries in mental and behavioral disorders.

University of California–Los Angeles (UCLA) is also noteworthy. Its psychology department is top-ranked and it's particularly known for its Clinical Psychology program.

Lastly, University of California-Berkeley offers an incredibly strong psychology program. One of the specializations within their psychology major is "Clinical Science", which aims to understand, assess, and treat individuals with psychological disorders.

Keep in mind, these are just a few examples of well-regarded programs. There are so many great psychology departments across the US. You'll want to consider other factors when choosing a school beyond just the psychology program, such as location, campus culture, cost, and whatever else is important to you in your college experience.
