What female trade jobs have good prospects?

I'm a high school junior interested in pursuing a trade, but I'm curious about what the best opportunities are for women. Are there trades where women are thriving and are in demand?

Absolutely, women are making great strides in many trade industries considered non-traditional for their gender. Here are a few trades where women are in demand and thriving:

1. Electrician: Although once a male-dominated field, more women are entering the electrician trade, which offers a robust job market and competitive pay. Electricians handle everything from wiring new constructions to maintaining and repairing electrical systems in existing structures.

2. HVAC Technician: These professionals oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. It's a job that requires technical knowledge and hands-on problem-solving skills, and women bring a lot to the table in this domain.

3. Welder: Women welders have been gaining visibility and respect in the industry. Welding offers a wide variety of opportunities, from manufacturing to custom metal art creation.

4. Plumber: Plumbing is a stable trade with plenty of work available. Female plumbers are increasingly more common and can specialize in a variety of areas, including pipefitting and steamfitting.

5. Auto Mechanic: Women in the auto mechanic field bring a unique perspective and set of skills. Not only do they handle the under-the-hood work of repairs and maintenance, but their presence can also be comforting to female customers who may feel uneasy in traditionally male service environments.

6. Construction: Women in construction tackle all sorts of jobs, from managing construction projects to hands-on building. Specializing in an area like carpentry or masonry can also increase job prospects and earning potential.

Remember, any job or trade is "for women" if a woman wants to do it. Don't let old stereotypes limit your options. Pursuing a trade can be a rewarding and lucrative career choice.
