What are some trade jobs in demand for 2024?

I'm considering going into a trade after high school and trying to figure out which trade jobs will be in high demand in 2024. Does anyone have advice on where the best opportunities might be? Thanks in advance!

It's great to see you exploring different career paths! Trade jobs can provide stable work and high pay, and many of them are expected to see growth in demand. Based on labor market predictions, here are a few trades to consider:

1. Solar Photovoltaic Installers: As renewable energy gains more traction, jobs in this field are expected to grow. These professionals set up and maintain solar panels.

2. Wind Turbine Technicians: Similarly to solar panel installers, as wind power becomes a more common source of alternative energy, technicians who can service and maintain wind turbines are expected to be in high demand.

3. Electricians: Electricians will continue to be in demand. With the growing need for wiring in homes, businesses, and industrial facilities, this is a job that will stay relevant.

4. Home Health Aides: As the population ages, there will be an increase in the demand for health care services at home. Home health aides help patients with daily activities and basic healthcare needs.

5. Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Steamfitters: These professionals are always in demand due to the constant need for plumbing installation, maintenance, and repairs in homes, businesses, and other buildings.

6. HVAC Technicians: These professionals specialize in the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. As more homes and businesses install these systems, the need for trained professionals in this field will grow.

Each of these trades provides opportunities for on-the-job training, though you might find it beneficial to attend a vocational or trade school for a more comprehensive understanding and training.

Remember, the best trade job for you depends not only on demand but also your own interests and abilities. So it's important to do some self-exploration and research on what each job entails before pursuing training in that trade.
