What are some cool trade jobs to consider?

I'm drawn to the idea of working in a trade and want to explore some cool, unique trade job options. What are some trades that involve interesting or different work?

There are a multitude of interesting trade jobs that you might consider. Here are some options:

1. Elevator Installer/Repairer: This job involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and similar equipment. Given the complexity of this equipment, the work can be quite varied and technically interesting.

2. Wind Turbine Technician: As a wind turbine technician, you would be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing wind turbines. This is an exciting field to be in, particularly given the rise in renewable energy.

3. Plumber: As a plumber, you wouldn't just fix sinks and toilets. Plumbers install and repair pipes that carry liquids or gases to, from, and within businesses, homes, and factories. Some specialize in installing and repairing pipes that carry natural gas or water to cooling, heating, and industrial process systems in large buildings.

4. Aviation Maintenance Technician: Also known as aircraft mechanics, these technicians ensure that aircraft are safe for flight. Their work includes inspecting and servicing engines, making minor and major repairs, and maintaining detailed records.

5. Electrician: Although being an electrician might seem like a more traditional trade job, it boasts a diverse range of tasks. Besides installing wiring, you could also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical problems.

6. Underwater Welder: This is an exciting and unique choice as it combines diving with welding. These professionals perform various types of tasks underwater in deep sea situations like oil platform repairs, underwater pipeline fixing, and submerged structure welding.

Remember that just like any other job, these trades require proper training and credentials, but the advantage is that they often require less time compared to a traditional 4-year degree. Plus, you generally start making money soon after starting your training since much of it is hands-on and can be done while working in the field.
