What's considered a high paying trade job?

I'm trying to weigh my options between going to college and entering the trades. For someone prioritizing income, what's considered a high-paying trade job these days? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Several trade jobs are known for offering significant income potential, depending on the level of skills, certification, region, and sometimes, the amount of physical risk involved. Here are some examples:

1. Elevator Installers and Repairers: Probably one of the most well-paid trades, their primary role is to install, repair, or maintain elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and other lifts. Given the complexity and risk involved, these professionals often earn a lucrative income.

2. Power Line Installers and Repairers: These individuals are responsible for installing and repairing complex power line systems. It's a physically demanding job often involving work at great heights, and therefore commands a high pay rate.

3. Boilermakers: They assemble, install, and repair boilers, closed vats, and other large vessels or containers that hold liquids and gases. This job often requires travel to worksites and long hours.

4. Air Traffic Controllers: One of the few high-paying trade jobs that's less physical, air traffic controllers coordinate the movement of aircraft to maintain safe distances between them. It's a high-stress job with stringent requirements, but the pay reflects that.

5. Commercial Divers: Commercial divers work in underwater conditions to inspect, repair, or install equipment and structures. This can often involve diving into extreme depths and demanding physical work.

To increase your earning potential, you may consider gaining more experience, investing in advanced training, or earning additional licenses and certifications in your chosen field. It's also important to note that these jobs can often involve physically demanding work, irregular hours, and in some cases can come with a degree of risk. Always ensure you're comfortable with the demands of the role before proceeding.
