Are there any job fairs focused on skilled trades?

I'm interested in learning more about skilled trades and was hoping to attend a job fair focused on these careers. Does anyone know of upcoming job fairs that highlight skilled trade opportunities or companies looking for skilled workers?

Sure thing. While these can definitely vary by region, there is usually a good number of job fairs that focus on skilled trades. A couple of places you might want to start checking are:

1. Trades Schools: Many trade schools or vocational schools host career fairs for their students and might open them to the public. Reach out to nearby institutions and ask about any upcoming events.

2. State or Community Organizations: Sometimes, local or state employment agencies and community organizations host job fairs that include a spectrum of industries, including skilled trades. Keep an eye out for announcements on their websites or social media channels.

3. Industry Trade Shows: Some industries have large trade shows that often involve job fairs. For example, in the construction industry, these might be hosted by construction companies or associations. While these might not be localized events, they can provide networking opportunities and insight into the various companies and trades involved.

4. Online Job Fairs: Particularly in light of recent years, many job fairs have moved online. Websites like Handshake and others often host virtual job fairs.

One example is National Skilled Trades Day, which is designed to celebrate and promote careers in the skilled trades. While it's not a job fair per se, organizations around the country often participate in the event by hosting open houses, career fairs, and other events.

Hope this gives you a good starting point. Remember, preparation is key – so be sure to have your resume and elevator pitch ready to go, even if you're primarily there to learn!
