Which Trade is Best for Learning and Securing Government Jobs?

I'm considering enrolling in an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and aim for a government job afterward. Which trade should I pick to have the best chances of securing a government position? Any advice on what trades are in demand would be awesome!

When considering a trade for a government job, some popular choices include Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, or Civil Draughtsman because of their high demand in the public sector.

1. Electrician: Industrial training as an electrician can prepare you for several government jobs in the electrical department and power corporations. Government departments require certified electricians for maintenance and repair work in their offices and residential premises.

2. Diesel Mechanic: This ITI course is high in demand especially in the Indian Railways and State-owned Transport Corporations. Diesel Mechanics are also required in the public sector units that maintain their fleet of vehicles.

3. Fitter: The ITI course in Fitter Trade gives opportunities in various government sector firms such as BHEL, ONGC, Railways, etc.

4. Civil Draughtsman: This trade has its relevance in public sector departments and organizations involved in construction activities like PWD, CPWD, Town and Country Planning, Urban Local Bodies, and Development Authorities.

The selection of trade ultimately depends on your interest and aptitude. Additionally, keep an eye on the current demands and future scope of the sector. Remember, getting a government job depends not only on the course you pick but also on your performance in the competitive examination, interview, and other selection procedures which these organizations follow. Do check the eligibility criteria of the various government exams you intend to appear for, to ensure that the ITI course you choose allows you to meet these. Good luck with your decision!
