What are some trade jobs that pay well in Texas?

I'm interested in pursuing a trade job in Texas after high school. I've heard some of them pay really well, like around $100k. Can anyone share which trades might offer salaries like this?

There are indeed several trade jobs in Texas that pay well. Here are a few:

1. Elevator Installer and Repairer: These professionals install, maintain, and service elevators, escalators, moving walkways, etc. Their job comes with a high earning potential due to the complexity and risk involved in the work.

2. Electrical Powerline Installer: They install and repair the power lines that move electricity from power plants to homes and businesses.

3. Petroleum Pump System Operator: Given Texas's booming oil and gas industry, this is a lucrative trade. These professionals operate and maintain the pump systems, doing tasks like controlling the flow of oil, monitoring pressure, and operating pumps and manifold systems.

4. Boilermaker: They assemble, install, and repair boilers, closed vats, and other large vessels that contain liquids and gases. This job requires a great deal of physical strength and stamina and is thus highly paid.

5. Aircraft Mechanics and Service Technician: These professionals perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alterations of aircraft and aircraft systems. Given the level of skill and precision required, it's a well-compensated trade.

In each of these trades, you usually need to start with an apprenticeship or vocational training, and in some cases, such as the petroleum pump system operator or boilermaker, experience in the field might be required before you reach that high salary level. Keep in mind these are gross averages and individual incomes can vary widely based on experience, specialization, hours worked, and more.
