Best Trade Jobs for Money?

What are some of the highest-paying trade jobs that someone could start after high school? Are there specific certifications or paths that lead to better salaries in trades? Trying to weigh my options beyond just college.

Several trade jobs offer solid salaries, and many require only a certificate or associate's degree to get you started.

One of the highest-paying trades is an elevator installer and repairer. They are responsible for fixing, maintaining, and installing elevators, escalators, and all similar systems. The median annual wage for elevator installers and repairers is quite high. You would enter this field through an apprenticeship, which typically lasts about four years.

Another great option is a power lineman. These are the folks who install, repair, and maintain electric power systems and telecommunications cables. They have quite a high median wage, and entry into this profession typically requires technical school followed by an apprenticeship.

A third option is a plumber. Skilled plumbers are always in demand. They install, repair, and maintain the plumbing systems in our homes, office buildings, and factories. This is another profession where you would start with technical school, followed by an apprenticeship.

Lastly, radiation therapists, who provide radiation treatment to patients with cancer and other diseases, earn high salaries and require a two-year associate's degree in radiation therapy.

These are just a few examples of high-paying trade jobs. Keep in mind that salaries can vary significantly depending on factors such as location, level of experience, and specific certification. Therefore, it's important to do thorough research and consider factors beyond just the initial salary. For example, think about the demand for the job, the nature of the job, and how you feel about undertaking that work long-term.
