Dartmouth Early Decision 2 Deadline Help!

I’m eager to apply ED 2 to Dartmouth but can't seem to find the exact deadline. Can someone help me out with this info? Also, any advice on what makes a strong ED application would be appreciated too!

The Dartmouth College Early Decision application deadline is November 1, and there's only one round of Early Decision. There is no ED 2 round at Dartmouth. Decision notifications are usually around mid-December.

As for creating a compelling ED application, it boils down to a couple of core areas.

First, your academics need to be strong. While Dartmouth, like many Ivy League institutions, takes a holistic approach in reviewing applications, strong academic performance is crucial. Your GPA, course rigor, and standardized test scores (if you submit them) should be strong indicators of your academic prowess and readiness.

Next, your essays have a significant impact. The essays give the admission officers a glimpse into who you are beyond your grades and test scores, your passions, experiences, and what you can bring to the Dartmouth community. When writing your essays, ensure that you illustrate your story in a compelling and personal way, detailing your experiences and lessons learned, and how those relate to your future goals, and specifically, how Dartmouth fits into that picture.

However, remember that while Dartmouth is a highly competitive school, a well-rounded application displaying both strong academics and personality will make a strong case for you. Also, keep in mind that applying ED should mean Dartmouth is your absolute first choice, since it comes with a binding agreement to attend if accepted.
