How do I change from early action to regular decision on Common App?

I've already submitted my application through Common App as early action, but I'm thinking about switching to regular decision. Does anyone know if this is possible and, if so, how to do it?

The Common Application does not have a built-in feature that allows you to change your decision plan (early action to regular decision) after you've submitted your application. However, it's not an unheard-of request and colleges typically have ways to accommodate your change in plans.

You should reach out directly to the college's admission office as soon as possible. They are usually the ones who can assist you in making this change. You can either give them a call or send them an email explaining your situation. Make sure to provide your full name, date of birth, and any other identification details they might need to locate your application.

When you make this request, always approach it professionally. Keep your explanation straightforward and respectful. Remember, the admissions process is handled by real people, and clear and polite communication can make a significant difference.

However, please also keep in mind that policies can vary by college. Some schools might not allow this sort of switch or might have different steps that need to be followed. Therefore, it's crucial to check the specific policies of the schools you've applied to.

Just to note, this type of change might have implications for when you hear back about your admission and possibly for your financial aid as well, so ensure you understand any potential repercussions before making the change.
