How do you stay sane waiting for Cornell's Regular Decision notification?

It's definitely a nerve-wracking time as you await college decisions, but there are quite a few strategies you can use to manage this.

Firstly, keep yourself busy. Engage in activities you enjoy to take your mind off things. It could be a hobby, time with friends, or getting into a new Netflix series. This not only helps distract you but can also improve your mood.

Stay active physically as well. Exercise is a proven stress reliever. Whether it's going for a run, joining an online yoga class, or even just taking long walks around your neighborhood, physical activity can help alleviate anxiety, as it releases endorphins that elevate your mood.

Anxiety often comes from focusing too much on outcomes. Try to redirect your energy on the process and the lessons learned during your college application journey. It's no small feat applying to competitive colleges like Cornell, and it shows a lot of initiative and passion.

Furthermore, remember that college decisions are not a reflection of your worth or potential. Regardless of where you end up going to college, you will have opportunities to excel and make an impact.

Lastly, maintain a balanced perspective. Yes, Cornell is an exceptional school, but there are also many other fantastic colleges out there. So, regardless of the decision, note that you have opportunities for an excellent education elsewhere.

It's natural to feel anxious, but remember that this phase will pass. You have done your part by applying. Now, take the time to relax and enjoy the remainder of your senior year.
