Babson College Regular Decision Financial Aid Process

How does the financial aid process work for regular decision applicants at Babson College? I want to make sure I apply for all the aid I'm eligible for and don't miss any forms or deadlines.

Babson College follows a fairly streamlined process when it comes to financial aid. To apply for need-based aid, you'll need to submit two forms: the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the CSS Profile. Both of these can be filled out and submitted online.

The FAFSA is, as its name suggests, a free form that is used by the U.S government to determine your eligibility for federal aid. You can find this form at the official FAFSA website. For the 2024-2025 school year, the FAFSA can be submitted starting October 1, 2023. The official federal deadline is June 30, 2025, but you should aim to submit it well before this date.

The CSS Profile is administered by the College Board and helps the college assess your need for institutional aid from Babson College itself. There is a fee to submit the CSS Profile, but fee waivers are available for eligible students. This form can be found on the College Board's website.

For Regular Decision applicants, Babson's priority filing date for both the FAFSA and CSS Profile is January 15. It's important to submit these forms by the priority filing date to have the best chance at receiving aid.

Keep in mind that it's crucial to be accurate in your financial data and to update both forms if there's any changes in your family's financial situation. After reviewing your submitted forms, Babson will put together a financial aid package based on your demonstrated financial need. This aid package may consist of federal, state, and institutional grants, loans, and work-study options. Once it's ready, your offer will be emailed to you and made available on your student portal.

So if you plan on applying for Regular Decision at Babson (which usually has a deadline in January), aim to have all your financial aid documents completed and submitted by January 15 as well.

Best of luck with your application!
