Changing from regular decision—is it possible?

I already submitted my application for regular decision, but now I'm considering switching to either ED2 or another option. Is it too late to change my application type, or is there a way to update my status?

While it may vary slightly from college to college, most admissions offices, once they've received your application, begin processing and reviewing it right away. Therefore, they generally do not allow for changes from regular decision to early decision after submission, as it could disrupt this process and cause administrative issues.

However, the definitive answer to this question will depend on the specific college in question. Each college and university has its own policies and deadlines regarding switching decision plans. Some might allow changes before a specific cutoff date, while others might not. At this point, your best course of action would be to contact the admissions office of the college or university to which you've applied. Understand their policies, clarify any doubts, and proceed accordingly.

Good luck with your application! It's clear that you're diligently considering your options, and that can only be a positive thing. Always remember, no matter the method of application, what matters most is presenting an application that accurately and powerfully represents you as a student and as a person.
