Difference Between Apply Texas Regular and Other Decisons?

I'm using Apply Texas for some schools, but I'm not sure about the ins and outs of their Regular Decision process. Can anyone explain how it might differ from other application systems like the Common App?

In terms of application types, ApplyTexas doesn't differ too much from the Common App. Both platforms let students choose from Early Action, Early Decision, or Regular Decision options, provided that the university itself offers all those options. However, the differences come in regarding the layout and process, as every application platform is unique.

In ApplyTexas, you'll have to write essays following the prompts laid out by the application, just like you'd do on the Common App. But here's the kicker: ApplyTexas prompts might not be the same as the Common App's, so it's pretty doubtful you'd use the same personal statement for both if you're applying to schools through both platforms.

Important note: When you're filling out the ApplyTexas application, you're going to select your preferred admission plan - Early Decision, Early Action, or Regular Decision - for each individual school listed. The deadlines for each admission type are school-specific.

Moreover, ApplyTexas asks you to list your extracurricular activities and work experiences separately, whereas the Common App allows you to list and elaborate on both in one section.

Lastly, something to keep in mind when navigating the two systems is the cost: both have application fees, and they can vary based on the schools to which you're applying. Don't forget to look into fee waivers if you're eligible!

Remember to stay organized so you don't miss any school-specific requirements or deadlines on either platform. It may be helpful to create a spreadsheet or checklist to track your progress!
