Can regular decision applicants win Duke scholarships?

I'm applying to Duke, hopefully under regular decision. I want to know if applying regular affects my chances of getting scholarships at Duke. Are there scholarships specifically for regular decision applicants?

Sure, it's possible to win scholarships as a Regular Decision applicant to Duke. These scholarships have their own separate deadlines and application processes, so it's important to double-check all dates and requirements.

For Duke-specific scholarships, the majority do not require separate applications and are based upon your application for admission. One major scholarship program is the David M. Rubenstein Scholars Program, which provides a comprehensive funding and programming package for first-generation students and is awarded based on your admissions application.

University Scholars Program and the A.B. Duke scholarships, on the other hand, require an additional application process that you should definitely check out if you're interested.

Keep in mind that a lot of these scholarships decisions are communicated in late March, around the same time as general admission decisions.

Lastly, don't forget about external scholarships, too. Many organizations outside of Duke offer scholarships to incoming college students across the country, regardless of whether you applied Early or Regular Decision. There are also scholarships based on factors like academic merit, artistic talent, community service and more.

Make sure to extensively search and apply to as many scholarships as possible to maximize your chances of winning financial support. Tools like Appily can be helpful in tracking down potential scholarships.
