Yale QuestBridge Regular Decision Options

I'm considering applying to Yale through QuestBridge but not sure about Regular Decision. How does applying through QuestBridge affect other applications or chances if I'm deferred from the match?

If you apply to Yale via the QuestBridge National College Match but don't match with Yale, your application will automatically be reviewed again during the Regular Decision process. It doesn't mean that you're less qualified or that your chances of admission in the Regular Decision round are diminished. It simply means they may be considering other factors in your application that may make you a better fit for the Regular Decision round.

Regarding other college applications, QuestBridge Match is binding, which means if you get matched with a school, you're committed to attending, similar to Early Decision at many colleges. However, if you aren't matched with any school (including Yale), you are released from this commitment and are free to apply to any college through their respective Regular Decision, Early Action, or Early Decision programs.

Remember, when applying through Regular Decision, you'll need to submit any additional application materials requested by the college, including financial aid applications, directly to Yale (or other schools to which you're applying).

Yale sees QuestBridge as a positive factor as it demonstrates resilience in the face of significant hardship. Plus, you showcase a dedication to taking initiative and seeking opportunities. Therefore, applying through QuestBridge is advantageous and can showcase your character and commitment.
