How does QuestBridge regular decision work?

I'm a QuestBridge finalist and thinking about applying regular decision. Does anyone know how the regular decision process works for QuestBridge students? I want to ensure I’m doing everything correctly.

QuestBridge Regular Decision can be a great option. After participating in the National College Match, if you're a QuestBridge Finalist, but not matched with a college, you can apply to QuestBridge's college partners through Regular Decision.

Once the match process concludes, colleges typically return Non-Matching Finalist applications to QuestBridge, and QuestBridge creates an online system through which you can submit your QuestBridge application and any additional requirements or updates to colleges for consideration in the Regular Decision process. The actual process for this may vary slightly from year to year, so keep an eye on emails from QuestBridge for instructions.

You can add colleges to your Regular Decision Form that is made available to you after the Match. This happens from mid-December to early January. There isn't a limit to how many colleges you can apply to through Regular Decision.

Here are some key steps to keep in mind:

1. Check each college's requirements: You should check the specific application requirements of each college you are applying to, as they vary from school to school. Some require additional financial documents or test scores, while most ask for a supplemental essay or questions.

2. Submitting additional material: Using your QuestBridge credentials, you can typically upload additional or supplementary material directly to QuestBridge. That varying by the school, such information could include grades from first marking periods, new test scores, or entirely new essays or recommendations.

3. You must apply Regular Decision to colleges that ranked you: If you ranked any colleges and were not matched, you are often required to apply to these schools through Regular Decision unless you reach out to the school to have your application withdrawn.

4. You don't need to start a new application: One advantage is that you can continue to use your QuestBridge Application instead of having to start a Common App or Coalition App, making it a bit easier.

Lastly, remember the deadlines for each college's Regular Decision is different and typically falls in early January. It's best to track this information in your own system, like a spreadsheet or a calendar, so you don't miss them.
