Regular Decision Deadline for Penn State: When to Apply?

I’m finalizing my application for Penn State and need to know what their regular decision deadline is. Is there a specific date I need to aim for, and any advice on timing my application well?

Penn State operates on a rolling basis, meaning they don't have a firm deadline for their regular decision applications. However, it's worth noting that they suggest submitting applications by November 30th to have the best chance of admission, especially for programs that fill quickly.

Although it's a rolling admissions process, Penn State does still have a "priority" deadline, which is November 30. If you apply by this date, you will hear back from them no later than January 31. Applications received after November 30th are reviewed on a rolling, space-available basis, meaning that specific programs might be filled and closed to new applicants at any time after December 1st.

When it comes to timing your application, the best advice is to submit as early as you can while still being confident in the quality of what you're submitting. Since programs can start to fill up after the priority deadline, applying earlier increases your chances. This fact doesn't mean you should rush and submit an application that isn't your best work. Just try to strike a balance -- it's all about submitting the strongest application you can, as early as possible. Lastly, don’t forget to double-check all components of your application before you hit the submit button! You want to make sure everything is accurate and represents your best self.
