Is regular decision an option with QuestBridge?

I'm a QuestBridge applicant wanting to know if I can still apply for regular decision to partner schools. How does mixing QuestBridge with regular decision apps work, and would it affect my chances?

Yes, the regular decision is an option with QuestBridge Partner Colleges. As a QuestBridge applicant, you have a lot of flexibility with your application process. If you aren't matched during the National College Match process, you can switch to applying through Regular Decision (RD) to any of the QuestBridge Partner colleges. This process is known as QuestBridge Regular Decision.

How it works is pretty straightforward. After the Match Scholarships results are announced, whether you're matched or not, you'll select colleges for RD through your QuestBridge application. This is called the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form, and it's due in early December. This simply lets QuestBridge know which Partner colleges you want to keep tabs on your application.

Afterward, you'll need to follow the application instructions each college individually provides - some may ask for an additional supplement or other specific materials. You are not obligated to apply to the colleges you ranked for the Match. You can apply to all, some, or none of the colleges you ranked, or even to colleges you did not rank, but keep in mind that fees may apply if the college does not provide a fee waiver.

In terms of whether it would affect your chances, it's important to know that QuestBridge Partner colleges are committed to meeting 100% of the demonstrated financial need for all admitted students, whether through the Match or Regular Decision. If you weren't matched initially, it does not put you at a disadvantage for RD. It may even increase your chances at some schools as the pool may be smaller or different in characteristic than those for early or Match rounds.

Remember that each admissions process (Early Decision, Early Action, Regular Decision, QuestBridge) has a different pool of students, so you cannot directly compare your chances. It's always a good idea to diversify your options and pursue the method best suited for your unique circumstances. Good luck with your applications!
