Harvard Interview: Does everyone get one?

Hi there, I'm applying to Harvard next year and I've been hearing about the interview process. Do they interview all applicants or just a select few? If you've been through the process, can you share your experience? Thanks a bunch!

Not every applicant to Harvard receives an interview, as the availability often depends on the number of alumni interviewers in your area. Generally, Harvard interviews as many candidates as possible, but they can't guarantee an interview for every applicant. If you don't receive one, it's just a matter of logistics - it doesn't mean you aren't getting in.

If you're offered an interview, it'll be conducted by an alumni volunteer their time, and could be either in person or virtual depending on each of your preferences. These interviews tend to be casual conversations where the interviewer wants to get to know you better, understand your interests, and learn about the experiences and aspirations that might not come across in your written application. It's important to be yourself and be honest about your experiences and goals.

To prepare for the interview, think about how you'd like to share your passions, goals, and interests, and consider preparing some questions to ask the interviewer about their experience at Harvard or any advice they may have. Lastly, remember to be confident, listen carefully, and show your enthusiasm for both your chosen field and the opportunity to attend Harvard.
