Does getting selected for college interviews indicate anything?

I've been invited to several college interviews and I'm curious if this means anything about my application standing. Does this mean the college is particularly interested in me, or is it just standard procedure?

The offer to participate in a college interview varies depending on the school's policy and is usually not an indicator of the strength of your application. At many colleges, interviews are offered on an availability basis depending on how many alumni interviewers are in your region. This means that getting an interview doesn't necessarily mean that the college is more or less interested in you. Rather, it's often a function of logistics and availability (not enough interviewers in your area, or too many applicants for the number of available interviewers).

In some instances, if an interview is offered to you, declining it might leave a negative impression as it could be perceived that you're not as invested in that particular school. So it's generally a good idea to take up the offer if you receive it. But remember, not getting an interview offer doesn't mean your application is weak. Many students get admitted to highly selective schools without having an interview.

Do keep in mind that there are colleges that don't offer interviews at all, like Vanderbilt and Johns Hopkins, so you should check each school's policy individually. The interview experience, while not generally a deciding factor in admissions, can provide an opportunity to learn more about the school and allow the school to know you better on a personal level. So you could certainly utilize this opportunity to your advantage.
