Michigan Early Action Rejections

Hi everyone! I'm considering applying to the University of Michigan through Early Action and was wondering if anyone knows if they ever reject applicants during the early round, or if they just defer them to the regular decision pool? Thanks!

Hi there! The University of Michigan does have both deferral and rejection for applicants during the Early Action round. While it's true that many applicants are deferred to the Regular Decision pool for further evaluation, it is also possible for some to be outright rejected. Rejection occurs if the admissions committee simply feels that the applicant's profile clearly does not meet the university's standards, and thus won't be any more competitive in the Regular Decision round.

I hope this clears up your confusion, but also have confidence in your own prospects at Michigan - tons of applicants get accepted Early Action as well! Best of luck!
