Gap Year for Christian Students: Any Suggestions?

I'm a Christian student interested in a gap year that aligns with my values and beliefs. Are there any programs or experiences that other Christian students have found meaningful during their gap year?

Sure! There are numerous gap year programs tailored for Christian students that focus on service, discipleship, and personal growth.

One such program is YWAM (Youth with a Mission). They offer a Discipleship Training School (DTS), typically lasting five to six months, which involves classes, service opportunities, and global evangelistic outreach. The schools can be specialized to focus on certain interests or career paths such as music, sports, or business.

Similarly, Adventures in Missions offers a program known as "The World Race: Gap Year" which is centered on Christian service and mission work in multiple countries over nine months. The journey could involve anything from working with refugees, to teaching English, to sharing the gospel in local communities.

Another option is Summit Semester, a part of Summit Ministries. This is a three-month program in Colorado where students dive deeply into Christian philosophy, apologetics, and the bible while also exploring the outdoors and participating in communal activities.

Yet another choice is the Impact 360 Fellows program. This is a nine-month Christian gap year program that focuses on biblical worldview, servant-leadership, and understanding the culture in which we live.

You may want to consider these options and reach out to the organizations to see if their missions align with your personal beliefs and goals. Participating in these programs can help deepen your faith, and provide unique opportunities for service and personal growth. Do remember that the best program for you depends on your personal objectives for your gap year, so ensure that the programs not only align with your beliefs but also with your longer-term goals.
