Hey! I'm considering applying to Boston University and wanted to know if they offer interviews for prospective students. If so, has anyone been through one and can share what it's like?
Boston University does not offer evaluative interviews as part of its undergraduate admission process. They state on their website that due to the high volume of applicants, they are unable to provide this opportunity. Boston University now offers students an opportunity to submit a 60-90-second video to complement their application through a partnership with Glimpse. Submitting the video is optional, and applicants who choose not to submit a video will not be at a disadvantage. The video is an opportunity for you to share something about yourself that we would not otherwise learn through other parts of your application. To submit a video, visit: initialview.com/glimpse/
Even though there are no evaluative interviews, you may still interact with the admissions office and representatives through information sessions, open houses, and college fairs. These are great ways to learn more about the university and show demonstrated interest.
While it's not directly part of the admission process, taking part in these experiences can give you insights that you can reflect on in your essays -- it can help you speak convincingly about why you are interested in BU specifically. You might gain a deeper understanding of their academic programs or student life or perhaps gain details about what makes BU special.
Just remember, these interactions aren't graded or evaluated. So, be genuine, ask questions that genuinely interest you, and use this as an opportunity to ensure BU is a good fit for you. Hope this helps!
