Does Syracuse University conduct interviews for freshman applicants?

I'm looking at Syracuse University and wondering if they conduct interviews as part of the application process for incoming freshmen. Does anyone know if interviews are required or optional and how they might impact my application?

Syracuse University does indeed offer interviews for prospective students, but these are entirely optional, not required. The interviews serve primarily as an informational tool where you can learn more about Syracuse, its programs, and campus life. Remember, the interview is not just for the admissions officers to get to know you better, but also a chance for you to gather more information about the school and determine if it's a good fit for you.

The interviews tend to be informal and are not heavily weighed in the admission decision. They're more of an opportunity for you to demonstrate your interest in Syracuse, ask questions, and further articulate your fit with the university. These interviews can be done either individually or in group settings and can be done in-person or virtually.

Just keep in mind that while these interviews are optional, taking the opportunity to interview shows demonstrated interest in the university, which can subtly factor into the admissions decision.

Remember to prepare for the interview by doing a bit of research about the university. It can be helpful to have a few questions of your own to ask during the interview as this will demonstrate your interest and enthusiasm for the school.
