Trinity University Admissions Interview Tips

I'm preparing for my admissions interview with Trinity University and feel kinda nervous. What kind of questions should I expect? Any advice on how to best prepare and make a great impression?

First off, it's completely normal to feel a bit nervous before your interview. Remember that the interview is not only for the admissions office to get to know you better, but also for you to learn more about the school.

They may ask questions related to your academic interests, your high school activities, and your future goals. They might ask, for example, "Why do you want to attend Trinity University?" or "What aspects of our school's community or programs are you most attracted to?" They could also ask about your favorite classes or teachers in high school, how you respond to challenges or how you spend your time outside of school.

Preparation will help you feel more comfortable. Research about Trinity University, identify the programs, resources or aspects of the community that you like and how these align with your interests and goals. Be prepared to clearly articulate why you believe Trinity is a good fit for you.

Practice answering common interview questions, but remember it's not just about scripted answers. Be honest, be yourself, and show genuine interest and enthusiasm in your responses.

Day of the interview, dress appropriately, make sure to arrive early or log in few minutes before the scheduled time if it's a virtual interview, maintain eye contact, listen to the interviewer’s questions carefully, and take a moment to think about your response before beginning to answer.

At the end of the interview, it's likely you'll be given the opportunity to ask your own questions. This is a great opportunity to show your sincere interest in the school. You can ask about things like student life, specific programs or departments you're interested in, experiential learning opportunities, post-graduation support etc.

And lastly, remember to thank your interviewer at the end of the conversation. You can also follow up with a thank-you note or an email to show your appreciation for their time.

Good luck with your interview! You're going to do great.
