Should you send a thank you after a university interview?

After finishing a university interview, is it customary or beneficial to send a thank you note? I'm wondering if this could impact how the admissions team views me and whether it's a common practice.

Definitely! Sending a thank you note after a university interview can demonstrate your appreciation for the interviewer's time, and also can offer an opportunity to reiterate your interest in the school. It certainly won't guarantee you a spot, but it can leave a positive impression, especially if your note is thoughtful and genuine.

The note doesn't have to be long; simply thanking the interviewer for their time, mentioning something you particularly enjoyed discussing, and restating your interest in the school should suffice. Remember, however, that it's important to send this thank you note promptly after your interview, preferably within 24-48 hours.

While this might not be a universal practice amongst all applicants, it's a gesture that can set a positive tone and demonstrates good manners and professionalism, traits that could well make you memorable in a sea of applicants.
