Has anyone experienced a Tufts University interview?

Can someone share their experience with a Tufts University interview? How was the format, and what kind of questions were asked? I'd love to get as much insight as possible before mine.

Tufts University interviews are indeed a part of their admission process. The interviews typically happen after your application has been submitted and serve more as a chance for the admissions office to get to know you better, as well as for you to learn more about the school. They are conducted by alumni of the school, usually in a public place like a coffee shop, or now, they can also be online. It's a relatively informal conversation, and you can decide what information about yourself you'd like to highlight.

As for the format, interviews usually last around 30-60 minutes. They typically begin with the interviewer introducing themselves and then asking you to share a little about yourself.

In terms of the questions, they tend to be open-ended and aim to understand you as a person and your interest in Tufts. Expect to answer questions like:

- Why Tufts?

- Can you tell me about your high school experience?

- What activities are you involved in outside of class?

- Can you describe a challenge you faced and how you handled it?

- What is a recent book you've read or movie you've seen that you enjoyed?

Remember, just like any other interview, it's not just about answering questions. It's also a great opportunity for you to ask your questions about Tufts– the culture, classes, campus life, the interviewer's personal experiences, and anything else you have in mind.
