Can you request an interview with Cornell University?

I'm applying to Cornell and wondering if there's a way to request an interview to increase my chances for admission. Do they allow this, or is it strictly by invitation only? Any insight would be great!

Cornell University's undergraduate admissions process does not include a formal interview. This is applicable for the Regular Decision, Early Decision, and transfer application processes. So, you wouldn't be able to request an interview in this case. It's important to note that this isn't uncommon among highly selective colleges and universities, so it doesn't necessarily put you at a disadvantage, as other applicants are under the same circumstances.

Instead, you should focus on other elements of your application that you have control over, such as your essays and extracurricular involvement. For instance, your essay is a great place to show your interest in the school. You might focus on how you'll contribute to the school, how you'll benefit from the school's resources, or why a specific program at Cornell aligns with your academic or career aspirations. Moreover, continue to engage in school activities, pursue your passions, and maintain a strong academic performance, as Cornell will particularly appreciate students who demonstrate a commitment to excellence both inside and outside of the classroom.
