How to tell if your university interview was successful?

I just had a university interview and I'm trying to figure out if it went well. Are there any signs or feedback from the interviewer that might indicate a positive outcome? Would appreciate any help!

Analyzing the outcome of an interview can indeed be tricky. A few factors you could consider to estimate the success of your interview are:

- Did you have a good rapport with the interviewer? If the conversation flowed easily, and if you felt a sense of connection, that's usually a positive sign.

- Did the interview extend beyond the allotted time? If the interviewer spent more time with you than expected, that often suggests they were interested in getting to know you better.

- Did the interviewer provide positive affirmations or encouraging remarks? Comments like, "That's an impressive achievement," or, "I can see why you're interested in our program," can be good indicators.

- Did the interviewer detail what the next steps in the process are? If they were clear about when you might hear back or suggested you stay in touch, that can be a good sign.

However, take note that these signs are not definitive indicators of a successful interview. Some interviewers may keep a more neutral demeanor regardless of how they feel. Mostly, you should feel good about how you presented yourself and the answers you provided. If you think you communicated your passion, skills, and interest in the university clearly and confidently, then that's what matters the most.

Remember that the interview is just one part of your whole application, and universities consider many factors when making admissions decisions.
