Exploring engineering colleges with rolling admissions

I want to study engineering, but I'm also seeking colleges with rolling admissions to keep my options open. Which engineering colleges offer this option, and how was your experience applying to them?

Several engineering colleges operate on a rolling admissions basis, meaning they review applications as they're received until all spots are filled. Some of these include Michigan Technological University, Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), and the University of Pittsburgh, to name a few.

Michigan Technological University is well known for its engineering programs, particularly in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I recall many students found the application straightforward, focusing on high school records, ACT or SAT scores, and other relevant achievements. Some also stressed the benefit of applying early in the admissions season to take advantage of the rolling admissions process, enhancing their chances of securing a spot.

IUPUI, on the other hand, presents a unique opportunity to access Purdue's engineering programs in an urban campus environment. Similarly, the application process is considered quite efficient. The wait time between submitting your application and receiving a decision is noted to be comfortable, and the staff have a reputation for being helpful throughout the process.

The University of Pittsburgh, also known as Pitt, offers comprehensive engineering programs within its Swanson School of Engineering. As with the other universities listed, Pitt's application process via rolling admissions is generally seen to be efficient.

Each of these schools' rolling admissions process allows you flexibility and a level of certainty sooner rather than later. Nevertheless, because spots can fill up quickly, it's advantageous to apply as early as possible. Remember to check each institution's application requirements specifically for engineering programs as they may have additional criteria!
