Still waiting on rolling admission results?

Is it normal to still be waiting on decisions from my rolling admission colleges? I've applied a while ago and haven't heard back yet. Anyone else in the same boat or have tips on what I should do?

While it's usually true that rolling admissions decisions are sent out on a fairly quick turnaround (typically 4-6 weeks after submission), the timing can indeed vary based on several factors. These can include the particular time of year you submitted your application, the volume of applications the school receives, and how those applications are processed within the school's admissions office.

So yes, it's completely normal to still be waiting. Remember, colleges with rolling admissions really do review them as they come, so if you applied later in the cycle, it may take longer to get an answer.

In the meantime, here's what you can do:

1. Check your status online: Most colleges have an online portal where you can check your application's status. This will generally tell you if a decision has been made.

2. Send a polite inquiry: If it's been longer than 6 weeks since you submitted your application and you still haven't heard, it's perfectly okay to send a polite email to the admissions office asking about the status of your application.

3. Stay patient: The admissions process can be nerve-wracking, especially when waiting for a decision. Rest assured, a decision will come—it just might not be as fast as you'd like.

Keep in mind that colleges with rolling admissions don't have the same kind of application backlog that comes with a set deadline, so while you might be eager to hear back, try to relax and let the process play out. Admission offices are working on many applications at the same time and each one gets careful consideration, so patience is key. Good luck!
